We are about to _replace_ 3 NW 4.11, sp 6 servers (campus1, campus2, campus3) with 3 new ones -->NW 5 The problem is that the new servers must replace the old ones. Due to registry entries (containing UNC-paths) in windows 95/NT-WS, the new servers will have to have same names as the old ones. Strategy: - Backup w/ArcServe IT (sp1) SMS-compliant - Install the new ones in the existing tree with different names from the existing ones - Let the 6 servers co-exist for a short period of time - Let one of the new NW5-servers become the new master - Sync - Copy the data (user files, applications) from the old to the new servers - Take the 3 4.11-servers out of the three - Rename the new servers to campus1, campus2, campus3 Is this the best (only?) way to do the migration? Seems that TID 2934033 (suggests that one should install 4.11 and then upgrade) does not apply to our scenario, since we don't want to _upgrade_.We want to completely remove the old servers and replace them with NW5. Opinions anyone? // Kai G Palm dk.edb.netware mīŋŊ gjerne svare pīŋŊ dansk :-) ***Please remove spam to reply***
