We have: o Netware 3.11 o SBACKUP.NLM 3.11b o HP35470A tape drive with hardware compression feature installed Can SBACKUP be persuaded to use the hardware compression feature already installed into the tape drive? It does not do so now; tape (4mm x 90m) capacity remains 2GB, as it is w/o compression. Thanks! ----------------------------------------------------------- With best wishes from: John H Meyers ( jhmeyers@mum.edu )

We use the mode that enables compression by default but allows software to disable it (which SBACKUP doesn't and, as far as I know, can't), and this is set by jumpers on the drive itself (not necessarily on the external enclosure, and opening the latter to get at the former might void the warranty if you've bought the whole thing as a unit). We definitely pack more than 4G on a 120M tape, usually over 7G.
