CD-ROM Sharing Software

I'm looking for software to share CD-ROMs from a NetWare 4.x Server.
Ideally, it would do some basic caching, and allow "nominated" staff to
change the discs in the drives, without needing anything like admin type
security.

Has anybody got any recommendations or bad experiances.

		Thanks,

Get the latest CDUPn file from support.novell.com and use the built-in
CD-ROM support in 4.1. CD's appear as NetWare volumes, and you can
use ordinary MAP commands to share them. Mounts and dismounts are
done from the console, no super user needed, just physical access which
they obviously will have if they are going to change the CD.

Is mounting the cdrom as a volume not a viable solution?

If you do not get what you want, its a sign that you did not really want
it, or tried to bargain over the price.

Look into SciNet's CD-Manager. Their software will take a PC with CDROM
drives in it and make it look like another NetWare file server.
CD-Manager is very easy to install and administer. No need to mount and
dismount drives, no overhead on your existing server and no extra
software needs to be installed at the workstations for them to access
it.
Their website, which has a lot more info on both CD-Manager software and
their CD-Servers is http://www.scinetcorp.com or if you prefer, you can
call email their International sales rep at: intsales@scinetcorp.com
