Ahem.

NetBIOS a LONG time ago meant that particular protocol used by IBM's 
PCLP to talk between client and server. 

As of late:

NetBIOS in a MAC frame format (ANYONE know the SAP?), NETBEUI, isn't 
routable, but very bridgable. Nice protocol, very fast. Especially 
when source routed (Heeheehee! Unroutable? Split hairs?)

NetBIOS as an extracted command set from the original PCLP and placed 
over a routable protocol (TCP/IP, IPX, etc.) as in SMB is as routable 
as the underlying protocol allows it to be. (anyone know the SAP? 
TRICK QUESTION, HERE!)
