So long as it's FAT16, it should work fine. You won't be able to access the Win95 long filenames, but OS/2 pretty well ignores the VFAT entries that contain those names, so OS/2 won't corrupt them; and Win95 pretty much ignores the OS/2 EA file, so that should be safe. Some exceptions, though: 1) Some relatively old versions of OS/2 CHKDSK did reportedly cause problems with VFAT LFNs, but this has long since been fixed. If you're running Warp 3.0, I'd recommend installing the latest ServicePack to be sure you don't run into this problem. 2) Some (mostly old) DOS disk utilities (like disk defraggers) would sometimes fail to copy the "unused" bits OS/2 uses to point to the EA file offsets, thus trashing the EAs, as far as OS/2 is concerned. The utilities included with Win95 are all safe, and AFAIK the same is true of most or all current third-party utilities. Just avoid the really old stuff. > rolan@ibm.net +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Rod Smith Author of: | | rodsmith@indiana.edu "Should I Buy OS/2" FAQ | | http://ezinfo.ucs.indiana.edu/~rodsmith "OS/2 Soundcard Summary" | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+
