An OS/2 user who understandshow to use the power of OS/2. I dont want to be overcritical of CWorks, that was never my intention. As I said, CWorks is simply brilliant as an image creator/editor. However the need to go back to the settings menu to change the effects of a tool is annoying. 1. A much better idea would have been to make the tools available as templates. Then you could drag and drop tools in the work area and apply the effects to the tools there. e.g. If you were creating a graphic with say some areas filled green with lavaflow effect and other areas blue with no effect you would drag a copy from the tool template and apply the settings, then you would have the tool with settings intact always available for use. This could then be saved as part of the file. Similar to the way styles are saved as part of a Word Processing document. You would then double click on the file and get your preset tools loaded with the file. Different types of graphics require different tools and a whole series of files could be set up as templates for different types of projects, tool settings intact. This is the power of OS/2. 2. Integration with the WPS may not have much to do with the power of CWorks as a graphics program but it has everything to do with it's usability. I do not accept that " integration with the WPS is a convenience at best", but that WPS integration is a prerequisite for an OS/2 program. 3. CWorks seems to be completely ignorant of the WPS. As a desktop printer I use a HP Deskjet 850C with the latest Omni driver. I have the setting on the printer configured as : Quality - Presentation Dither Alogarithms - Stukki Diffusion i.e. the highest quality available with the driver / printer combination. CWorks continually over rides these settings back to the printer default and to get quality print I have to go and edit the Job Properties for every print run. These settings are not saved with the file. Surely basic stuff. CWorks is no shareware program that you go and buy for $50 , but a commercial program. Every other commercial program I have purchased and most of the shareware one support the WPS and CWorks is by far the most expensive. To be justly called " The Killer App." Cworks will have to get these things fixed. Peter Fox Fox Quarries Pty. Ltd. pjfox@om.com.au
