I have to say I love using ZOC as well. The download problem stems from the fact that ZOC seems to require a lot of CPU cycles when downloading or uploading. I use MEMSTAT to monitor my system. The modem I use is 2400. When I use something like LiveWire to download and I have a few small background tasks going like a clock and CD player and a few small games, the CPU% is about 24% to 30%. This is on a 386DX-40. If I open a couple of OS/2 windows and do a few other things this jumps to 90% to 100% depending on what I am doing. I even run a digitized music player DMPlayer .99 at 22000khz and in stereo with no problems. When I download with ZOC in the same set up at 2400, even opening an OS/2 command line window give errors. For some reason ZOC is a CPU hog when downloading, no matter what rate it is receiving at, even 2400. MEMSTAT reports about 90% cpu usage. Either ZOC is doing something clever or there is a bug. Keep in contact. Dale Long.
