That has to do with the BUS. Notice the PCI did away with most of the user having to see this. Also are you saying that M68K's don't have any interrupts you need to contend with? >The Mac was 32-bit from the beginning No it was not. No such thing as 32-bit in the user market when it came out. The 68020 was not even thought of. >with built in hardware configuration and >a very homogenous (however proprietary) hardware set that integrates very >closely to the system to improve performance and ease of installation. You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. The Mac is a pile of glue with a 68K and a BIOS (newer PPC versions aside). We used to have 100% support in our Amigas like 8 years ago. All you needed was a ROM image. Little if anything in the Mac was/is what one could call proprietary. >IMHO, OS/2 is as good (or better) a UI as System 7 (and its offspring). It's a friggin toy no matter how pretty it looks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dave 'Kill a Cop' Cinege (aka Psychopath #3) --- Super Genius at Large The Oklahoma City Federal building bombing - Americas first response to government abuse http://www.psychosis.com/ **** FREE MIKE KEMP!! **** http://www.thnet.com/~deckard Libertarian Party 1-800-682-1776 http://www.lp.org/
