Here in comp.os.os2.misc, os2@mistik.express.net (Mustafa Soysal MS57)
spake unto us, saying:
>UnTieCom(tm) got about 200 customers at most, a lot of them not regisreted.
>I haven't compiled the exact numbers.
What's UnTieCom? I've never heard of it, and I play around a lot with
various utilities... Then again, I registered SIO in 1993, so I don't
look a lot at communications-related things.
>Describe went under, and I hear Stardock is complaining....
DeScribe, Inc. was managed in an "interesting" way, and they made a few
very bad moves in the past which ended up alienating significant segments
of their potential market (I avoided their word processor for almost two
years before I decided to buy it because of one of their proposed schemes
that they abandoned at the last minute before release).
>Let's move on to Windows as our finances permit.
Heh. I use Windows 95 a little here (I had little choice in obtaining
it, since it came with my new machine), and it's not a good replacement
for Warp 4 for me, which is why I consider my Windows 95 setup more of
a plaything and spend 95% of my time in Warp.
Win95 is decent enough (*certainly* better than Win 3.1), and may have
some application advantages, but it's FAR too limited as an environment
in a number of areas that I'm used to. I think *it* really needs a 32-
bit command line, you know?
