Did I ever say I bought my gear from a store?? Yeah right, half the time I don't even pay wholesale prices. If you can not look into an mail order or online catalog to find OS/2 > software, and just sit there and wait... You'd only have yourself to blame. MS do allow you to upgrade (if they didn't why can I freely purchase the product), and in regards to a mail order online catalog.I thought we are supposed to promoting OS/2 for new users as well as old. So... A) How is a new user going to get on the web with no machine and lack of web experience and get a copy of OS/2?? B) Without going on the net how is a new user expected to know of OS/2?? C) How are you going to justify to a new (or old) user that they have to wait 3-4 weeks (minimum) delivery to get the product when the competing product (Win95) is sitting on the store shelf in front of them?? > >> ===Proud Member of Team OS/2, Team OS/2 at Taiwan, ICENews Beta Tester=== > >What is Team OS/2??? > It meant just that. There has not been much promoting in this discussion, more like a lot of flaming due to people comparing OS/2 with Win95, are you guys too scared that maybe Win95 is a decent product that does have a strong market hold?? And before you reply, remember that there is currently a group of programmers trying to alter the dll's (and others) so that Win95 products can run under OS/2. Why would you do this if OS/2 products are just as good or better?? > >I mean reading a lot > >of the posts in this lists you kinda support the product, but the greater > >of the posts is bagging 95, wouldn't having 100% support of OS/2 and > >little bagging of 95 be more beneficial don't you think. > Go ahead and count the ratio... Either you are pull this out of thin air or > your news server is filtering out all the OS/2 posts. You are righting in saying I don't read "every" post end to end, but I don't believe you do either, either that you have no life outside of your continual shouting "OS/2 IS GREAT, FEEL THE POWER!!!!". > >Anyway, that is > >just my 2c, take it or leave it. > Personally, I'd throw it back in your face. You tried to attack me with this > message, while sidestepping the main problem in my message... I guess my > last message hurt your M$ sponsors... Muhahahaha... I didn't attack you, it was a general comment on how badly Team OS/2 seems to be operating, I mean why are you only supporting current OS/2 users, wouldn't trying to promote OS/2 to new users be just as beneficial if not more. ....and where did you get the idea I was promoting Win95, or for that matter have MS sponsors. Amazingly this whole discussion started due to my posting about when Warp 5 would be coming out, and if it was possible to run 95 products over a network to OS/2. Once again, you guys are making it so OS/2 can run 95 products, so once again, you are advocating that 95 products are better. > >Personally I will continue to support > >OS/2 (with no support from here) and continue to support 95 just as I > >always have. > Go ahead and check Fidonet OS/2 and OS/2 Hardware echo, and check several > OS/2 mailing list and news groups... *I* and MANY other OS/2 users have been > actively promoting OS/2 AND support any users who might have a technical > question/problem need to be sloved. Good for you, now as soon as OS/2 appears on the store shelf next to Win95 I know you have promoted it. And I don't doubt you provide technical support, but that is for current users, where are the new users?? > IMHO, you are either pretty dang new to this area, or you just can't read > all the OS/2 support and help messages. Yeah, it has been a while since I have come into a OS/2 newsgroup, wonder why I did know though, considering I was trying to get back into OS/2, and so far all I have been to do is told to shut up and let the big guys (like you seem to thing you are) answer and everything and play god. -- --- Terry ------------------------------------------------ terry@gargoyle.apana.org.au ICQ # 676620 http://gargoyle.apana.org.au/~terry ------------------------------------------------
