That's not my [rest cut] That is interesting because I set up a Win98 machine for a client and it works well - very smooth, quite fast and quite stable - will run for days on end without a hiccup . Would Radu like to elaborate - applications run, how many etc.? Do these friends of his have crook hardware? Since getting into the business of putting PCs together it is amazing (and aggravating causing the burning of mid-night oil!) how stupid some hardware and hardware combinations will behave; and on the surface there is no rhyme or reason for it. I sympathise with Rolan and note that a major difficulty impeding the "saleability" of OS/2 is the restrictiveness of what software you can use. One is constantly bumping into this. In my case my time is so fully committed that I don't have time or much interest to move out of the range of applications I have been using on my OS/2 machine for years. So I don't have the problem Rolan has but for potential customers yes it is a major impediment despite the rich range of software I can draw their attention to. This problem impedes gaining of mind-share. This lack of mind-share stops you even getting a toe hold of a potential customer's attention. At the end of the day human beings are driven by emotions. If that isn't there you can't sell anything! This makes earning money with OS/2 a dubious exercise. That would have to be the reason why so many vendors have stopped supporting OS/2. The continuing viability of OS/2 is in the hands of us current OS/2 users who have a determination to maintain and gain mind-share. The competition for mind-share is fierce are we up to the challenge?
