I've had the same headache. I tried what I thought I did for the OS/2 2.1
cdrom installation and the damn installation program never recognized the
sound card/trantor CD drive. Could a PAS16/Trantor expert please repost the
recommended method?
Granted, I'm using an old (not *that* old) tvm1scsi.add file (it worked with
2.1), but figured it would work. If IBM expects all users to have internet
access and BBS access to the latest drivers, they are making a *big* mistake.
They should include all drivers that work on the CDRom installations
mentioned in the README file that they ship (if it's there, I totally
missed it). Hell, if your going to take the time to see if it's
compatible, you obviously have the appropriate files, so why not include
them.
If anyone has a simple instruction file for installing from a CD drive that
is connected to a PAS16 sound card (or any sound card for that matter), I
think it would be *most* helpful to post it and have IBM print it out for
any CD dist. buyers.
I *really* like the IBM OS/2 products, but it seems like the user needs to
be a computer geek to even attempt any installation of OS/2 on a persaonal
computer with a non-IBM tech. near-by (or is that near-buy :) ).
