I have bought 2 copies of OS/2 for windows and am looking to give
it a try. Question : I have NT running on my main machine. I have 5
IBM PS/2 hanging off it running windows. These PS/2s are 386SXs with
8MB of RAM each. None have hard disks but floppy disks. They boot off
the floppy connect to the NT and everything including file sharing
printers email and fax sharing all work fine (at good speeds). Can I
run OS/2 in a setup like this ? Have the PS/2 machines get connected to
NT with the help of a floppy drive and then let it get the rest of the
files it needs from a dedicated hard drive on NT machine ?
Also my only cdrom drive (sound blaster cdrom E:) is on the NT machine
and is accessible from the PS/2 workstations. Can I easily network
install OS/2 from that cdrom ?
Is it all totally impossible and am I dreaming ?
Is sharing of email between NT and OS/2 possible ?
Security is not a major concern.
