I had also some trap problems, specia; when zipping big files in a DOS Box.
It turnes out that my Trident 9440 PCI card did the trick, when I switched the card back to 640 * 16 colors,
it worked O.K>

Changed it for a DIAMOND VRAM card, but still waiting for the drivers for DIAMOND.
