You can change some objects, but not all, to READ-ONLY, which would prevent
them from being deleted. To mark a Workplace Shell object (a folder) as
read-only, use the object's Settings notebook. On page 2 of the notebook's
File section, select the Read-only check box in the Flags area. Close the
notebook to save the new setting. Now, the folder cannot be deleted. You can
also do this with data objects. Unfortunately, you cannot mark all types of
Workplace Shell objects as read-only. You will always be able to delete
program objects, printers, and shadows. At least, you can save your folders.
