Oh yes, definitely DOS and with a green screen monitor and standard
IBM video adapter. It was such a great disappointment that I have
never forgotten the experience. Perhaps it was an even earlier version
of DOS Word than the one you had. In fact, it was probably the very
first release of Word, whatever that was, but I never went back to try
another version. Until later, that is, at one time I won a version of
Word for Windows in a raffle and used it for awhile, but some of its
"features" drove me crazy and I eventually switched to something else.
Perhaps it was DeScribe by that time. Another DOS word processor I
used for quite some time was XyWrite. Loved it!
