There _is_ an easier way to do this (besides using AssoEdit). Programs are listed on a file's 'Open as' menu in the order they were associated with the file's type or extension. The oldest association is at the top and is the default; the most recentLy added is at the bottom of the list. You can rotate the list by going to the first program's notebook, removing the association, then *immediately* re-adding it. This program will become the last item on the menu. The item that had been second will move to the top spot and become the default association. BTW... Since associations are updated immediately, a reboot really isn't needed; it simply updates the icons used by some of the files. == == almost usable email address: rlwalshATpacket.net == == ___________________________________________________________________ | Rich Walsh | DragText: the drag and drop enabler for Warp Ft Myers, FL | http://www.usacomputers.net/personal/rlwalsh/ | == now in beta: DragText v3.0 == ___________________________________________________________________
