o meaning that there might not be that many OS/2 users out there,

o Esther Schindler's advocacy personality having to do with it,

o OS/2 users not caring about signing up with ZD so that they may be
guided thru a book they must buy for the course. If the book is so
badly written that it needs the guidance, then why would you waste
   more money?

o Why would you learn something for an OS that was put to death by the
   manufacturer?

I nominate this for the joke of 97...

Errrr, I thought that was IBM's job to put the money and support to
OS/2. They have cut off any tech support because they were getting too
many bug reports....Can you comprehend that?

Ahaaaa, that has to be addressed towards IBM, not Ziff Davis. When IBM
is not supporting OS/2, how can you expect others to do so?

Not quite. Perharps the best that IBM ever was able to pull off...2.11
was better in stability, mind you.
