I am using ASUS P54NP4 (with the dual pentium SMP chip) and Warp. I was considering
an AMI PCI/EISA motherboard, but it did not have the socket for the the SMP chip.
The final decision was based on this chip, besides the AMI board was more expensive.
As far as problems, I had none. There was a minor Warp installation problem, as the
driver for the latest Adaptec SCSI-II Controller card (2940 if I am not mistaken) that
came with Warp caused the installation to fail. An older copy of the driver (from the
Warp Beta) solved this problem.
I had no problems with the dual 3.5"/5.25" floppy, CD-Rom, 1GB hd, nor the 2nd 360 kB
hd. I am using the ATI Mach64 video card with a Nanao Flexscan F550i, and have 32 MB
of Ram, have yet to utilize the full speed of the 28.8 kbps USR Sportster.
Overall I have had no problems whatsoever. I am waiting for IBM to release the Warp
SMP version so that I could utilize that empty socket.
