DAT drive that reads & writes audio?

[This *should* be a FAQ. If there's a canned answer for it, I'd appreciate a pointer. I didn't see a SCSI FAQ in news.answers or comp.periphs.scsi.] I'm getting ready to purchase a DAT drive. The last one I bought (years ago) was an Archive Python. It was a real pain to deal with, but when Sytos supported it, it worked well (until it died recently). I'm now considering an HP for no reason other than I think I recall it being supported by gnutar under OS/2. It would be great if I could get a drive that would let me read and write audio. I don't know where to look for this, though. Most of the places I called (from Computer Shopper) that advertised DAT drives asked questions like "What's D-A-T stand for?" (The other companies never had people available to talk to me.) So...any advice? Thanks. --kyler P.S. This is for a system running OS/2 Warp Connect. I have some Adaptec ISA and PCI SCSI adapters, but I'd be willing to buy another if necessary.

My advice is plan on using it just for computer storage. In MONTHS of watching comp.periphs.scsi, the closest thing I've seen is there is ONE drive that purports to do this, and it's sold overseas. Maybe in a few years, the manufacturers will realize we'd like to do this, but for now, it's effectively a no-go.
