Following a disk controller hiccup, i've had to reinstall OS/2. Previously i had Promixer/2 running, and the CD-ROM working nicely with audio cds. Now i have some problems. Hware: 486dx2-66, 20 meg RAM, NEC CDR-84-1, PAStudio The CD MMPM/2 application plays cds, but with *very* poor quality reproduction and at a really high volume. If i fire up Promixer/2 and change the vol, it goes down and the sound quality becomes okay. But, if i minimise that app, or close it, the settings and quality slip completely (previously i could make a change and it would stick). It's almost as if something essential is being swapped out of memory. I'm using the latest TMV1SCSI.ADD and MVPRODD.SYS, and the OSMIXER.DLL is in the LIBPATH. What else needs to be done? Does anyone know what is happening? Any help greatly appreciated. Please email replies to doug@citrus.uq.oz.au. Thanks, Doug

It's terribly obvious (and perhaps too obvious), but did you try reducing the master volume setting? There should be a master volume control applet in your Multimedia folder. Give that a try. -- Timothy F.
