Hello. I'm looking for advice on good books & magazines to read to gain a good understanding of the basic technologies of networking/internet. My cousin told me he wants to develop at least a basic level of understanding of the core technolgies. I'm not sure if any magazines will cover this, but I would like advice on which magazines are best to stay current. He said he isn't really interested in products, or which company makes the fastest computer for under $2k, etc. Finally, he is level of understanding would probably best be put as novice. Thanks!
