The cloner is using Windows 3.1 as his compatibility tester. As soon as it works under Windows, he declares it "done" and ships it. I used to buy clone stuff back when Windows 2.1 was around. When 3.0 came out, lots of my stuff quit working. The vendors had long since moved on, so I was forced to buy replacements. I don't know why you use an "adaptec compatible" SCSI card, when the real thing is so affordable and of high quality. Why you use "MS compatible" mice when you can get the real thing for $35/ea. Or why you get "generic" network cards when you can get SMC Elite Ultra cards for under $100. All of these "name brands" work flawlessly -- under OS/2 and everything else. You cheaped out and got stuck. You'll be fine as long as your operating system never advances. Who knows -- you may get lucky under WIn95 and have it all still work. Someday soon, tho, you'll run into the same problems... Joe Barnhart | Roos Instruments | joeb@wco.com
