Hello, I'm trying to make up a (pair of?) OS/2 v3.0 Warp boot disk(s) with the bare minimum of Novell Network Requester (for Novell 3.12) files on it/them to obtain a network connection under Warp. For a basic _DOS_ network boot disk I'd include the minimum system files (command.com, autoexec.bat, config.sys, io.sys, etc) and the network requester files for a netx connection (lsl.com, smc8000.com - in my case, ipxodi.com & netx.exe) with the appropriate startup batch file etc. But... I'd like to do this for OS/2 Warp. I've created the OS/2 Utility / Boot disks & added some requester files (the .sys equivalents of the .coms listed above, amongst others) and put in some 'device=' lines in the config.sys of the second disk to mirror what I have in the config.sys of a working networked client machine but I still have problems. It claims not to be able to find _file_ nls. I've copied the c:\netware\nls directory off a working client & added the path to libpath & dpath in the config.sys but to no avail. Has anyone successfully done such a thing? Apologies if I'm being thick... any ideas gratefully accepted. Thanks in advance, Craig Wentworth Library Computing Officer Huddersfield University Library, UK <c.r.wentworth@hud.ac.uk>

I don't want to sound like a wet blanket, but I don't think this can be done - there just isn't enough room, even if you used both drives. A few versions of the Netware requestor back, I had managed to hack something together that worked, by putting the requestor files on a (FAT) partition on the hard disk (referencing that from the boot floppy). It required about 3 megs on the hard disk. Unfortunately, since then, the requestor has gotten big, fat, and ugly (like all software eventually does) and I haven't been able to get it working since. Note: You may actually be able to do it - by endlessly testing which files you need and so on, but I doubt you'd find the experience rewarding. Also, the "Can't find file" message is OS/2's way of saying it can't find a DLL. Either the file is missing or the dir that it is in isn't on your LIBPATH. ************************************************************************ Mencken and Nathan's Second Law of The Average American: All the postmasters in small towns read all the postcards. - pynq@quads.uchicago.edu, who is still costing the net hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars, every time he posts - ************************************************************************ rwvpf wpnrrj ibf ijrfer

This is possible but not with the requester that comes with
warp connect. You must go back to the older version. The one that
comes with warp requires pm dll's. These cost lots of disk space.
You must get novell req 2.01 and then create your floppies.
I just take a remote install floppy setup and then hack it.
Here oare the files on my disk.

THIS CAN BE DONE!
We are doing it quite often. We have OS/2 Warp (not Connect!). We use this for
workstation cloning. The workstations have ethernet network and
3Com EtherLink III network cards. Here are file listings on our diskettes:
