Thank you all very much for helping me out !

The rsize seems to be pinned down to 4096 Bytes. wsize did not show
troubles, so I left it to the default.

Backing up EA's: On "ftp-os2.nmsu.edu" (a.k.a. "hobbes") contains a
                 very nice program called "eabk201.zoo", which writes
                 all EA's into a regular file and allows to restore
                 them from there.

Backing up INI-files: At the same site you will find "showini2.zoo" resp.
                      "showini3.zoo", both being at the same version
                      level 2.0; it creates bkp's in INI- or TXT-form and
                      allows to restore from there (REXX-pgm).

With both utilities you can restore EA's and locked INI-files.
