LAN Manager on 3Com Server

We have a 3-Com server running LAN Manager 2.0 fine. We are now trying to
upgrade Lan Manager to Lan Manager 2.1 from Microsoft. We have run into
problems doing 3+backups and restores using an 8mm Exabyte tape drive.
The problems are intermittent but serious enough that we would not be able
to use this equiptment in a production environment. Does any one reading
this have a trouble free installation of Lan Manager 2.1 for 3com on a
3com server?????????

Yes, we are running LM 2.1 on a 3S500 server, but not with a Exabyte tape
drive.

The only thing, I am not happy with, is the printer queue control.

Well I doubt that there is any such thing as trouble free when 3Com is
involved but we have quite a few 3Com 400's and 600's running 2.1. We have
had a few problem with the Exabyte though mainly with restores it trashes
most of the data. So restores are the only problem we've had, if you are
having similar problems let me know.

Have you tried the LANMAN listserv? They have quite a few people
running on 3Servers there, they might be abel to help. Send a mail message
to listserv@list.nih.gov and include subscribe lanman-l yourfirstname
