We have a modem connected to a server on a LAN Server 3.0 network. The modem is connected to the server's COM1, and appears to the client workstations as COM9. We're having a problem when using Carbon Copy (for DOS). After supposedly removing it from memory (and even terminating the DOS session that it ran in), the com port is apparently not yet freed. Carbon Copy was running locally on the server. When I tried to run ZOC from a client workstation, I got an error that COM9 was not available. When I tried it again, it kind of hung the (client) system. However, when I ran ZOC on the server, it worked f ine. On the server PC, Carbon Copy and ZOC are both set up to talk to COM1 (thereby bypassing the network?). On the clients, they're trying to talk to COM9. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks for any help. - Keith P.S. This is an *old* version of Carbon Copy. Although I have strongly suggested upgrading it, I am not in a position to do it without authorization. P.P.S. I tried using TE/2 in place of ZOC and got the same results. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keith Bennett Bennett Business Solutions, Inc.
