AIX is quite too vital for IBM. Not to mention the fact that it is expected to have a major upgrade this year into 64 bit, along with new 10 way and 12 way servers and new 64 bit CPUs this year. The RS/6000 is a major major part of the server line up and has far too many businesses committed to it and the pace is not abetting.
