I've heard that there is a Family API whose functions can be called by both DOS and OS/2 processes. Specifically, I'm interested in having a DOS and an OS/2 process communicate with each other via named pipes. I've found the Named Pipes online documentation, but there is no mention of whether or not is part of the Family API and can be used under DOS. If it is true that the family API functions can be used under DOS, is there a .LIB file that is used to link with? If not, how can a DOS app access this function? Can a boot image DOS use family API too, or just OS/2's DOS emulation? Where can I find documentation on this family API? Which .INF file or which manual? Thanks for any help.
