shared interrupts?

Can someone help me with the consequences of running multiple instances of a particular DOS program under OS/2? This DOS program drives a hardware card, and according to the manual, writes directly to the screen buffer (video memory) and intercepts interrupts 24 (DOS critical error) and 9 (keyboard interface). I would like to use OS/2 to run multiple instances of this program, but I am unsure as to whether OS/2 would bomb because of sharing interrupts and/or video memory. It is important that these programs continue to run in the background. Does anyone know if OS/2 is capable of this?

We have some rude DOS applications we use in the lab to control GPIB
equipment. It was written by Contract Students we employ from NCSU that
are working on their Masters and PHd. They did just about everything one
could think of to be creative in DOS and OS/2 swallowed it hook, line &
sinker & complained only once. The application put up a high resolution graphics
display while it was running. OS/2 said, gee this is running in the background
so their is no one to see this pretty display so I will put the application to
sleep until some one switches it to the foreground. All we had to do was
remove the graphic display feature and all went well.
