I will be porting a program from DOS to OS/2, and need to implement some graphics drawing functions. For example, I need to call a function that will draw a rectangle, etc. Can I use PM to do that? I *don't* want my application to be event driven in what I understand is the usual PM sense. That is, I don't want the graphical objects to get any messages. I just want to be able to call primitive graphic functions. Can I do this? Also, regarding text fonts, are they scaled on the fly? If so, does the processor have to calculate each character as it's being displayed? (This would seem a little dumb.) Or is there some kind of font cache? Thanks for any responses. Your window will ALWAYS receive messages but you can always ignore them. >Also, regarding text fonts, are they scaled on the fly? The Adobe Font Manager takes care of scalable fonts, which are represented by a serious of lines, fillets, etc.. When you scale them, they simply scale the relative coordinates and voila.
