It's just been brought to my attention that the i/o bitmap can be used to enable i/o instructions for selected ports in 32-bit mode as well as in virtual 86 mode. Is there a way in os/2 for an application to get i/o permission for specific ports when running 32-bit code? This would eliminate the need for a ring change to execute i/o instructions and would speed up real-time control routines. -- Dave Feustel N9MYI <feustel@netcom.com> If convicted felons can't own firearms, then why in Hell do we let GE make nuclear weapons?
