JZ> I cann't run gcc2.2.2 under os/2 (HPFS). I followed the installation

This simply means that you have not setup GCC properly or you have
not involked it properly. Check your CONFIG.SYS settings to make sure
all of the environment variables that GCC needs are set as well as your
path setting. If those are ok, check your command-line parameters. You
should be using:
gcc -c -O progname.c
