Yes, you need EMX for running Emacs under OS/2. EMX gives you the possibility
to write programs both working under DOS and OS/2 because it also includes a
32Bit DOS Extender. EMX is written by Eberhard Mattes (author of emTeX, IMHO
the best TeX for PCs) and is free. In addition, it makes it possible to you to
use GCC and other *nice* (GNU) utilities for OS/2. Therefore you should try to
get the emxdev.zip package as soon as possible. As far as I know the latest
version is 0.8e, available from ftp.uni-stutgart.de (in soft/os2/emx).
Have fun with Emacs,
Michael Wein
