cfortier@genghis.news (Chris Fortier) writes: : Borland is supplying container class libraries, which is part of the framework. : As far as PM interface classes go, Borland can't solve all of the development : world's problems. This is a first generation product. If you remember, : Borland did not have a framework for Windows until Borland C++ 3.0, 9 months : after their first generation Windows product, Borland C++ 2.0. The cold hard : fact, is that you are going to have to wait and rely on third party libraries : to supply PM interface abstractions. As I see it, the Borland OWL interface was a very useful set of abstractions not just for Mickeysoft's Windoze products, but for GUI applications in general. One day, someone will learn - if we rely on third paty vendors, any advantage the abstractions may have given developers in terms of cross platform development is gone. I almost started writing a port of OWL form OS/2 last night. Could somebody comment on the "proprietry" of providing a look-alike interface (pref. Borland) Is anyone interested in becoming part of such a project ? If so, send any reasons you feel you would be qualified to be on the team. -- Tom J Parry. Your reality is a figment of my imagination.
