Win-OS2 VDM chewing up cpu

Whenever I close a Win-OS2 application, my system slows down to
a crawl. I have Watchcat installed and when I activate it, it shows
me the old Win-OS2 VDM is still running, and usually using between
25-75% of my idle CPU. The system activity monitor also flatlines
at the top of it's scale.
Killing the VDM through Watchcat alleviates the problem.
I've had a look through my win-os2 settings but I can't decide which
of the settings I should alter to correct the problem.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Nev..

Once I got Lotus 123 V5, no worries. I've heard MS does this on purpose, but I can't be sure. Paul

You haven't got win-os2 session setup as fastload have you. From what I understand the fasload option keep some sort of VDM running ready to start windows apps. They don't shut down properly. I too have to kill them--I use PM Patrol. I've not worried about it much since my configuration is byzantine (currently running 46 processes and 195 threads according to PM Patrol), and I don't run seamless Win-OS2 sessions very often. I do *NOT* have the fastload option enabled. Gerald W. Wilkins gwilkins@unl.edu
