Here are some guesses: The disc is faulty. There is a bad power supply connection to the disc. (Try removing and re-connect the power supply cable.) See if you can determine which component the noise is coming from (maybe it's not the disc after all--could be the fan?). > Regards > > Michael Block > > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > I AM BILL GATES OF BORG > STANDARDISATION IS IRRELEVANT > USABILITY IS IRRELEVANT > CHOICE IS IRRELEVANT > PREPARE TO BE ASSIMILATED > WE ARE MICROSOFT > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > resistance is not useless, join the Warp alternative, think for > yourself! > http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/2265/ > > read about the Microsoft Shared Delusional Disorder.
