Warp & AHA2940 - Drivers? Where?

Does anyone know where to find current(?) drivers for the 2940 for
OS/2 Warp? I swear, I am so tired of hearing that I can get drivers
for MS products but OS/2 is almost impossible!

I think ( it's been a while back ) that the OS/2 WARP Drivers support
my 2940 SCSI board right out of the box. If not... you can get ( I guess
the latest and greatest ) from ftp.adaptec.com in the /pub/BBS/os2
directory. The 7800* files are for the 2940 cards.

I just purchased a 2940 Wide adapter. It has a disk that is labeled
OS/2 Drivers. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. I want to
compare the drivers, and compare the performance with the standard,
2940 SCSI card. I'll post the results if anyone is interested.

The drivers should come with the board. If not, I have a copy that I can
zap to you. Just let me know.

at http://www.ibm.net/explore/ftp is a list of very useful ftp sites.

1 in particular is: OS/2 Device Driver Repository
otherwise known as:
	http://www.europe.ibm.com/getdoc/psmemea/progserv/device

That wasn't so hard was it?

The ones on fixpak10 are the most solid, FWIW.

I prefer these to any that have come with IBM Warp FixPaks.
Depending on your hardware, you may need to use the /PCIHW flag
(my system - an Intel Plato - will not boot without this option)

I am running a Plato board with a 2940UW (BIOS v1.2).
The drivers which shipped with the board are newer than
those on Adaptec's site. (Can't figure that one out :)

Mine are dated 8/08/95 version d1.20.

I do not have to use any command line options.

Email me if you want to try it out.

There is a driver included in Warp: aic7870.add

Hi,

IBM has somewhere in one of its FTP sites what I think is an updated driver for Adaptec 2940
etc compared to the driver supplied with Warp. You should nevertheless have a file ???7870.*
somewhere on your Warp disks or CD-Rom.

correct, but you should get the latest from Adaptec's ftp/www/bbs site.
