Help!!!
I am trying to install Warp - CD onto the following config...
486DX2-S 66MHz 256K cache, 16 Meg Ram, AWARD BIOS, VL Bus Motherboard,
WD 540MB HD, Quantum 170MB HD, 1-3.5inch FD, 1-5.25 inch FD, Promise
DC4030VL-2 Hard disk controller with 4MB cache <using PTI1S506.ADD driver for this>,
Orchid kelvin 64 graphics card with 2MB dram, Panasonic CR562B CD Rom
attached to Soundblaster AWE32 card, Supra FaxModem V32.Bis internal
card. HP Deskjet 550C printer. The operating systems already on the
other partition is MS-DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1
I have partitioned the Western Digital Hard disk into the following:
Partion Status Access FS Type MB
Startable Primary BOOT MANAGER 1
DOS/WIN Bootable C:Primary FAT 170
OS/2 Bootable E:Logical HPFS 220
None F:Logical FAT 111
Pri/Log Freespace 11
Using advanced installation I select an alternative drive, select the
OS/2 logical drive and change it's status to 'Installable', I exit
FDISK, format the drive as HPFS. The installation program continues
normally. When the System Configuration screen comes up, I select my
printer. Primary display shows SVGA( Cirrus Logic ), then on
acceptance, a more specific choice comes up for 'Cirrus Logic 5426,
6428, 5430, 5434', I accept this. The Orchid Kelvin 65 Has the Cirrus
Logic 5434 chip onboard. The other setups hae defaulted correctly.
Accepting the format, the system begins to install, after a while a box
comes up with the following message...
System Error - OS/2 setup and installation.
SYS3170
A program in this session encountered a problem and cannot continue.
I look at the map and this is the first line.
A program caused exception 00000040 at 00000000
The only other option is to stop the program, I do this and I'm in the
desktop, but nothing has been setup.
I reboot the machine and I get the following message...
SYS1201: The device driver E:\MMOS2\SB16D2.SYS specifed in the device
statement on line 73 of the CONFIG.SYS file was not installed. Line 75
ignored.
The screen goes blank with a small cursor in the top left hand corner
and thats it... Nothing, nada, nil, zip. Died the death.
I have tried re-installing from scratch and I always get the same
problem!!!
What can it be, please someone, help!!!!
You can mail me or repost to this newsgroup, preferably the former, if
you can help.
Thanx in advance
