Unimaint by Softtouch system will help get rid of os2.ini and os2sys.ini 
entries that are inconsistent with existing files.

HPFSdefrag will put the inifiles into contiguous blocks on the drive.

Both help "optimize" the ini files (less garbage, fewer fragments).

Maybe.
