Ok, ok, I may have already displayed my ignorance of cards nowadays.
Anyway, I am helping a friend to purchase a new 486DX2-66.
Here in Adelaide, South Australia :-) the local vendors generally
offer 1Mb VLB Trident or Cirrus Logic cards. Sorry I dont know what the
specific id numbers are, but I guess they are recent. I have the
impression from net postings that ET4000 W32p has no driver problems
with Warp, but it costs a little more. I am not sure of the others.
So, the question is, given a choice of these four, which is best?
Or if all are cruddy, what should we look for?
We dont want a really expensive fast card, just something thats
reasonable wrt speed and price :-).
Trident
Cirrus Logic
S3 Jax /* what is this S3 stuff all about anyway ? */
Tseng ET4000 W32p
Thanks,
Paul
