Video problems with CL-5426 and Mag LX1564L monitor

I am running OS/2.11 with a cirrus logic 5426 local bus card (bios version 1.1)
and a Mag LX1564L 15 inch monitor. At present I am running 1024x768
interlaced in 256 colours. I would like to run non interlaced, but when I
select higher refresh rates the screen becomes very distorted.
No pin cushion adjustment, resizing or moving of the screen helps; the edges
of the screen look very warped and completely out of shape. Also all text
on the screen, in graphics mode, becomes thicker and darker (hard to read) than
in non interlaced modes.
This happens under both OS/2 and DOS/Windows 3.1, the same screen distortion
happens under both operating systems. The monitor was sent back under
warranty and was returned with the message that there was nothing at all wrong
with it.
Can anybody suggest what is happening here, does anybody else experience the
same problems, do you think that it is the video card or the monitor ??
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated !
Regards,

Richard,
Have you contacted Cirrus Logic about a BIOS upgrade for the video card?
There may be one. If MAG Innovations sayd the monitor is fine, then I'd start
at the video card BIOS and drivers and go from there.
