Reading MS 1.8Mbyte format diskettes--HELP?

I was trying to install Word 6.0c under Warp, and was unable to. The first disk,
which is in "normal" 1.44 Mbyte format, is perfectly readable; however, the
following diskettes are in Microsoft's "new" format, which packs about 1.8 Mbytes
onto a floppy.

Under Windows (for instance, when I dual-boot the ValuePoint to Windows instead
of OS/2), EXPAND is able to read and decode from the second and following disk-
ettes. So it would appear that the installer is doing something underhanded to DOS
behind Windows' back that it cannot under OS/2.

Once installed, Word 6.0c will run fine under Warp. (Better, in fact, because its
print speed is so clearly superior under OS/2.) However, this seems a bit back-
handed, and is certainly unacceptable to new users.

Does anyone have suggestions? I would gladly hear them, for my upcoming
OS/2 and Byte columns.

I just read in PCWeek that there is a patch available in the Compuserve OS/2
forums that addresses this exact problem. They did not mention if it available
on the Internet somewhere.

Hope it all works out.
