probing hardware with OS/2?

we have a scanner that, via some SCSI adaptor card that had come with
it, is connected to a PC running OS/2. Since the scanner software (for
Windows 3.1) is rather buggy we are considering moving the scanner to
another PC running Linux.
Unfortunately we no longer can get a hold of any scanner (and especially
SCSI card) docs. Is there any tool for OS/2 that can probe the hardware
and reports its characteristics (such as IRQs used, which memory
locations a card uses, whether it's memory or I/O based, etc.)?
Thanks.

Georg, the only thing I can think of that might be what you want is
QCONFIG. I've used the DOS version but haven't used QCONFIG under OS/2,
so I can't vouch for it. You can FTP the OS/2 version from
<http://oak.oakland.edu/pub/os2> and other places as well.

Hi Georg,
You can use OS/2 to probe your PC's devices.
Go to an OS/2 window and type any one
of the following lines, followed by an
<Enter> key pressed :

   RMVIEW /DC

   RMVIEW /DC /IRQ

   RMVIEW

For more info on using RMVIEW, in an OS/2
window type the line below, followed by
an <Enter> key pressed :

   HELP RMVIEW

Sincerely, Marian Alexie.

Have you tried the OS/2 "System Information Tool"? It spews out reams
of info.

Have you considered using OS/2 software?

Try RMVIWE at command prompt, you will see some interesting data.

 RMVIEW might work better. :)
