I've found a nice "kludge" to view Targa's and to greatly reduce their
size while producing a better image than cshow. Using the JPEG 3
compression program:
cjpeg -Q 85 -o targa.tga jpeg.jpg
djpeg -G jpeg.jpg gif.gif
This produces a 256 color .GIF file and a small 24 bit JPEG file....
The .GIF views MUCH better than the Targa.
This uses all free, easy to use software...
