Greetings, We are considering the purchase of an Infoserver 150 and the question came up as to whether or not a user on our VAX running VMS 5.4 could access RRD42's containing CDROMS with High Sierra or ISO 9660 formats. Local DEC have this under research and know of some hardware additions which could accomplish this. I realize that a *lot* of the software for a great many applications are DOS specific, but it seems like if there is/was a driver that could deliver the data to the VAX, some enterprising individuals might be able to mimic them. It would be much, *much* more likely we could get funding for campus-wide CDROM access, if every seat in the house could access any CDROM on our net! Anybody doing anything along this line ... or am I just whistling in the dark? :-) Will be glad to sumerize for the net. UMKC GaryM.
