Andreas,
XSync is probably not causing the problem, but since it flushes the
message queue, it is triggering a problem which was caused by an
earlier command. I recommend that you initially run your program
completely synchronized. Use the XSynchronize() function in
main(), before the call to XOpenDisplay().
My PEXlib Protocol Encoding spec shows minor opcode 43 to be the
PEXStoreElements command. Is is possible that your PEX server does
not have Structure Store enabled?
To check for Structure Store, you can use the following macros,
courtesy of Tom Gaskins, O'Reilly Associates:
/* Version and subset macros. */
PEXExtensionInfo* info; /* returned by PEXInitialize() */
#define VERSION_5_0( info ) \
( (info)->major_version == 5 && (info)->minor_version == 0 )
#define VERSION_5_1( info ) \
( (info)->major_version == 5 && (info)->minor_version == 1 )
#define STRUCTURE_SPT( info ) \
( (VERSION_5_0(info) && \
( ((info)->subset_info & 0xFFFF) == PEXCompleteImplementation ))
\
||(VERSION_5_1(info) && \
( ((info)->subset_info & 0xFFFF) == PEXCompleteImplementation \
|| (info)->subset_info & PEXStructureMode ) ) \
)
Hope this helps you out.
