Does anyone know how to automate the SET HOST "nodename" Command in a command file so that it automatically signs on to a node? I need to run a command file that will sign on to another workstation and run a program from that system. Thanks... Please reply to: scada@techemail.com

I did it once via Kermit and DCL using several procedures to create a pseudo-terminal and run a script via that. Let me know if you need more details. I would not use SET HOST for this. For how this can be resolved, please see the OpenVMS FAQ sections DCL8 and (for a somewhat more primitive version) MGMT12. Also see the OpenVMS Ask The Wizard area (www.openvms.compaq.com/wizard) topics 159, 798, 1910, etc. Also see the DCL command SUBMIT/REMOTE. --------------------------- pure personal opinion --------------------------- Hoff (Stephen) Hoffman OpenVMS Engineering hoffman#xdelta.zko.dec.com
