SLIP for PCXNET

Has anybody used SLIP in the PC version of XINU (or any other version)? 
I am trying to setup a PCXINU configuration with SLIP alone (without 
Ethernet). It seems the networking code in XINU assumes only Ethernet 
interfaces. 

I will appreciate any help on this matter.
