Only remote retrieval which is directed at a third phone number. Retrievals done within a single phone call are not covered, and were patented in non-US countries earlier than 1988. ! which can definantly hurt anyone doing software for FaxBack !type services or business people trying to retrieve faxes while on the !road etc. These services are still available, some licensed, some not. IMHO, These FRIA folks just don't wanna pay fair n square license fees and are paying lawyers probably far more money in fees instead. !This patent is being fought by a group called the 'Fax Response Industry !Asoociation (FRIA)' A big company with 3 letter name already lost one patent interference on this patent. So, the jump to 4 letters. ;) /eli -- /* eli@spdcc.com */
